PHN to Show a Multimedia Presentation to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw

Thursday, August 13, 2020 - 12:39

On the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, a multimedia presentation will be displayed on the tenement house at ul. Wierzbowa 9/11, which is owned by Polski Holding Nieruchomości, and it will depict the key events of August 1920. The PHN Group is a company attached to historical tradition and engages in activities commemorating events that are important to Poles.

For the next three days, from August 14 to 16, the course of the battle, its decisive moments as well as the effort of society in the face of Bolshevik threat in 1920 will be displayed on the facade of the building. The presentation will cover almost the entire tenement house from the first floor to the roof.

The property located at ul. Wierzbowa 9/11 is a tenement house built around 1820 for Ludwik Adam Dmuszewski — actor, director of National Theater and the editor-in-chief of the “Kurier Warszawski” daily. It was burned down in September 1939 and rebuilt in the second half of the 1940s. Currently it is owned by the PHN Group.

“I am very glad that we can commemorate the events from 100 years ago that allowed us to maintain independence. This form of commemorating important moments in the history of Poland will surely interest both adults and the younger generation. The Battle of Warsaw is not only one of the most important Polish victories, but also a breakthrough that decided the fate of Europe in the 20th century. We would like to invite you to watch the multimedia show prepared by us,” said Marcin Mazurek, President of the Management Board of Polski Holding Nieruchomości S.A.

The multimedia presentation will start this Friday at 9 p.m. Each animation will be followed by a 5-minute break, during which the clock will count down the time remaining to the next projection. Due to quiet hours, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. the animation will be displayed without loud music. The projection will end at midnight on August 16.

The Battle of Warsaw was recognized as the 18th most important battle that decided the fate of the world. The Poles stopped the march of the Bolsheviks to Western Europe. In 1923, the day of August 15 was declared as the Soldier's Day. The celebration of the victory over the Bolsheviks, abolished after the war by the communist authorities, was reintroduced after 1989.
